Occasionally here at Player2.net.au we will play something that deserves your attention but probably doesn’t need a full review written for it. Be it DLC for the latest AAA title, a little indie game or even an Android/iOS title. We play these titles for the same length as the average blockbuster movie (about 2 hours) and report back to you the reader on what we found. So grab your popcorn and settle in for the latest episode of Blockbuster Gaming.
Blockbuster Gaming: Forza Horizon 2 presents Fast and Furious
In what may be a stroke of marketing genius a new game based on the Fast and Furious franchise has been released. Fortunately there are two things that set this title apart from the usual movie based dreck that gets pushed out the door. The first is that it is basically just an expansion pack for the superb Forza Horizon 2 and the second is it is available until the 3rd of April for free!
If you have played Forza Horizon 2 you know exactly what you are getting with Fast and Furious. The game is set in the same map as FH2 and has racers completing similar goals. The only differences being a small story narrated by rapper Ludacris who plays Tej in the films. The story has the player, as the person who won the Forza Horizon 2 tournament, tasked with tracking 10 rare cars that have all happened to feature in the Fast and Furious movies.
Despite the simple setup it really is hard to complain about more Forza Horizon gameplay. The superb handling, perfect atmosphere and stunning graphics still have the game sitting with the cream of the racing crop. This Fast themed expansion is more of the same but when the same is this good it really does bring a smile to the face. The game may actually end up being a better marketing stunt for Forza then the movies because giving gamers everywhere a nice chunk of Horizon 2 gameplay for free is certain to bring new racers into the Forza ranks.
There is no reason at all why you shouldn’t download this title now. Seasoned Forza pro’s will be happy with the new cars and new players will finally get to experience one of the best games of last year. Add to this the fact it is free at the moment and you have a win win situation. So grab that download, buckle in and hit the road. You won’t regret it.
