Halo 5 sets the date

After the launch of the new “Hunt the Truth” teaser site, 343 Industries have given rabid Halo fans another piece of the puzzle with a new trailer and a release date for Halo 5: Guardians. Halo 5 will be hitting the stores on the 27th of October 2015 and will hopefully make up for the rocky launch of the Master Chief Collection.

The new trailer shows Agent Locke (now a Spartan 4) hunting down everyone’s favourite super soldier and seemingly accusing him of some great crime against humanity. What actually occurred and how Locke came to his conclusion is still a mystery but expect more teasers and story hints as we get closer to release date.

In other surprising news Halo has made a return to the PC but in a strange way. Halo Online is a free to play online only game based on the Halo 3 engine and is about to go into beta in Russia and nowhere else on the planet. In fact Microsoft have said at this stage there are no plans to bring Halo Online to English speaking countries. It this Microsoft’s attempt to finally make some money from the notoriously pirate friendly Russia or are they using this as a proof of concept for a wider Halo PC release? Only time will tell.
