Monthly Grab Bag – June 2015

Playstation Plus

Sony have really knocked it out of the park with their free game choices this month. First up on the PS4 is Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros. This game was derided upon release for its short campaign so now it is free there is no longer any reason to complain. The Second free PS4 game is Skulls of the Shogun, a turn based strategy game that boasts some great gameplay and a host of charm. Quite the challenging game too.

Despite its length there is a great game here.

On the PS3 players will get the excellent Call to Juarez: Gunslinger. This game came out of nowhere and surprised everyone with its entertaining arcade gameplay and highly enjoyable narrative. Fans of the old west need to dive right in here. Cloudberry Kingdom is also coming to PS3 which is a Super Meat Boy styled platform game with procedurally generated levels.

The Xbox 360 is grabbing one of the best open world games ever for the first half of the month. Until June 15 Xbox gamers will be able to install Just Cause 2. For those that have been living in a nuclear bunker for the past 6 years Just Cause 2 is a game about explosions and the freedom to make things explode in crazy ways. Seriously if this somehow skipped your games pile grab it, you will not regret it.

Finally for the second half of the month the Xbox 360 will be getting the 2014 reboot of Thief. The game split audiences upon release with many saying it failed to live up to its potential however there is plenty of joy to be had with the game especially at this price.
