This time of year is basically Christmas for gamers. News, reveals, surprises and teases all appear during E3 that get players hyped for the next wave of games coming to their favourite system. Here at Player2 we thought it would be fun to look at the upcoming E3 and make some predictions as to what we will see coming. So Matt, Stevie, Adam, Stephen and Jenn sat down and thought about what we will see, what we might see and what would be nice to see. We will be doing one predictions article per conference in the lead up to E3. First on the list is Microsoft.
E3 Predictions 2015 – Microsoft.

Safe Bet
Halo 5- Halo is the horse that carries Microsoft through life, and boy oh boy does this company flog that poor horse. We’ve seen bits and pieces and honestly I don’t give a crap, but there’s lots of people who do. Here’s hoping there’s a modicum of difference between this game and the last four.
Fairly Likely
Tomb Raider- For some alien reason, despite Lara Croft being a Sony girl for the history of time, Microsoft has a time sensitive exclusive on the newest Tomb Raider title. Since the last game made so many waves and reached new heights in popularity, I think the company would be crazy not to gab on about this upcoming title.
Wishful thinking
I’m not a Microsoft girl. Never owned an X-Box, never cared to own an X-Box, and I just plain old don’t care what Microsoft does. But if I had to invest any hope in the company, it would be to GIVE ME MY TOMB RAIDER BACK GIVE IT GIVE IT OH MY GOD GIVE IT BACK.

Lancers will rev loudly as Gears of War – The Dom Collection is announced and dated. Microsoft promise that a hefty Day One Patch won’t be an issue, but will keep Judgement in their back pocket just in case.
Fairly Likely
Microsoft lay down some of their plans concerning post launch support for Halo 5 and discuss using Halo: Reach HD as a promotional tie-in for owners of the Master Chief Collection.
Wishful Thinking
A giant Xbone shape piñata is lowered down from the rafters…after bursting out of it, a MS PR person confirms Viva Piñata will make a return, now featuring an open-world RPG mode in which you battle piñatas!

Safe Bet
It is a pretty sure thing that Microsoft are going to be pushing the first and second party exclusives this year. Phil Spencer has already indicated as much. Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable will all get good time as well as new titles such as Quantum Break, the new title from Alan Wake creators Remedy and Platinum’s new game Scalebound.
Fairly Likely
Microsoft have always had a good relationship with EA and I expect that to continue. It is fairly likely that there will be some more EA based exclusives for the Xbox One, most likely timed exclusive DLC for Battlefront. There is also a chance that an EA game will be exclusive to MS, possibly something Star Wars/Bioware related.
Wishful Thinking
Every year I wish for the same thing but it never happens. One of the best RPG’s on the original Xbox was Jade Empire. Set in eastern mythology as opposed to the traditional western style fantasy setting, Jade Empire was a breath of fresh air and still holds up well to this day. Come on Microsoft, send some of those fat wads of cash to EA and Bioware and get them working on it!

Halo 5 – Even blind Freddy saw this one coming and I sure didn’t need laser eye surgery to spot it as well. I’d be more shocked if there wasn’t at least 20 minutes dedicated to the behemoth that is the Halo series.
Fairly Likely
KI – Season 2 Story Mode – For anyone who knows me, they know I love my fighters and the reboot of KI has proven to be a thing of beauty. Iron Galaxy have been working hard on Season 2 and I’m expecting news on the updated story mode to be announced.
Wishful Thinking
Hololens game interaction – I just love the idea of VR and Augmented Reality devices and the Hololens looks like MS’ answer to what we will eventually look back and call the VR Wars. More specifically, will these just be an AR device that will have enhanced utility functions, or will MS go all out and move to extend their gaming library with advanced features for existing and up and coming games? Time will tell shortly.

Safe Bet
As a confirmed PS4 fan, I’ve tried to take the high road here. You’ll find nary a mention of Halo 20 (or whatever that series is up to), no sly jokes at Kinect’s expense, not a single instance of “Xbone.” Instead, I’ll play it safe and put my money on Microsoft confirming a Gears of War remaster for the Xbox One.
Fairly Likely
It is more than likely that there will be a big showing of footage from the new Tomb Raider game I was looking forward to playing.
Wishful Thinking
If I cross my fingers extra hard, maybe the rumours regarding Silent Hills being a surprise Xbox exclusive will be true (and thus the secret reason why P.T. was suddenly dumped from the PlayStation Store) but I think the conspiracy needs a bit more Illuminati involvement before I can give it that much credence.
And that is that for our Microsoft Predictions. What do you think? Are we on the money? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for our Sony predictions tomorrow!
