Yager dumped from Dead Island 2
Today publisher Deep Silver have announced they are dumping Yager as the developer of Dead Island 2. Yager, perhaps best known for the thought inducing shooter Spec Ops: The Line, has been taking from the project as Deep Silver take on the reigns of finishing the game.
This move is likely due to the multiple delays that the game has faced since it was announced over 2 years ago. Deep Silver announced the change with a short statement: “With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER. We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage.”
This move is sure to delay the game even further but it may be the best move in the long run for a franchise such as Dead Island. The delay, while annoying, is certainly better than releasing a broken or bad game.
