Yes Indeed. Dark Souls is Getting a Remastered Edition

Hey friends, do you remember Dark Souls 1, the hit RPG from Japanese developers FROM Software? Well its back, In remastered HD (or mobile) form. That’s right, coming in May FROM Software will be releasing a remastered version of Dark Souls in glorious 4k for PS4 Pro & Xbox One X (and PC obviously) as well as a version for the Nintendo Switch.

Yes friends, you can now play Dark souls on the Train, the Bus, in the car, in the dunny, anywhere you want. It’s the Dark Souls 1 we both need and deserve.

We don’t have any information on if they are going to take another crack at the dog’s breakfast that is the Bed of Chaos fight, but it looks like there will be no combat changes, just a graphics overhaul. It also looks like the online component is getting a slight tweak with a total of six (6!!!!!) players being able to be in the one game. This is a change from the original where you could have up to two helpers and one person invading trying to ruin your day.

The six-player online is in line with the latest iteration’s (Dark Souls 3) approach to multiplayer, where you can have up to two helpers, two invaders, and a mad spirit that can either help or hinder.

If you are part of the PC master race and already own Dark Souls 1 on Steam, looks like there is a 50% discount available at the moment.

I have been looking for the smallest excuse to get a Switch, and boy oh boy this is a good one!

Will you be picking up the remastered edition to fight the 4 Kings in 4k? Or will you be getting it on the Nintendo Switch and seeing just how much the joycon controllers can stand up to when put against Dark Souls.
