Nominees for the First Annual Australian Games Awards Announced

A big party is coming to the Australian Games industry very soon and it is arriving in the shape of The Australian Games Awards. For the first time ever, Australia will have its very own games award ceremony, recognising local and international games, content creators, journalists and developers.

Perhaps the most exciting news relating to this is (well for us anyway) Player 2 has quite the presence in the nominations. Player 2 super contributors James Swinbanks and Hope Corrigan along with P2 Editor Matt Hewson have all been nominated for Journalist of the Year. This is huge for all of us as the field in that category really includes Australia’s elite games writers.

But that’s not all, Player 2 has been nominated for Gaming Publication of the Year. A huge honour and while we don’t expect to win going up against outlets like Press Start and Gamespot, we are so excited to be even in contention.
