Supermassive Joins 2K to Announce The Quarry
Those horror fiends over at Supermassive games just love scaring the bejesus out of everyone. So much so that they can’t contain it all in one series of games. This leads us to The Quarry, a new horror adventure that is not a part of their popular Dark Pictures anthology and is being published by 2K games.
The game features a group of teens, out for some innocent partying and canoodling at a local quarry before blood-soaked hillbillies and other more nefarious villains break up the fun with oodles of blood splatter and menacing slow-mo camera pans. Let’s face it, it is a formula that works and in the interactive space, no one does it better than Supermassive.
It also wouldn’t be a Supermassive game without a bunch of b-grade, familiar celebrities thrown into the mix and that is certainly the case here. Cult actor Lance Henriksen, confirmed nutter David Arquette, Modern Family teen Ariel Winter and more are showing up in the game, ready to scare or be scared in this interactive tale.
In a recent PR blast, David Ismailer, President of 2K had this to say: “As an interactive narrative experience, The Quarry is a completely different type of game from anything 2K has published in the past. We are partnering because Supermassive Games are simply the best at what they do, and we’re huge fans of the studio. The chance to work with one of the great creative minds in our industry doesn’t come often, and we are excited to be on this journey together with The Quarry.”
The good news is that fans will not have long to wait to dive into this new horror experience, with the game scheduled for the 10th of June and is coming to the PS4/5, Xbox Series/One and PC. It is sure to be a hit with Supermassive’s huge following and it may even bring new fans into the fold with the cool cast and setting.
