Worlds of Bethesda Coming to Melbourne During International Games Week

Worlds of Bethesda Coming to Melbourne During International Games Week

October really is gamer Christmas in Melbourne. Every year there are a host of events that celebrate games in all their glory. This year there is a particularly special one being put together by Bethesda for all of their Australian fans. From 11am-43opm on Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th of October, Bethesda will be transforming a bar on Little Collins street into an interactive Worlds of Bethesda expo that highlights both the past and the future of the Xbox-owned publisher.

Some of the highlights include a tavern inspired by ESO, a bar themed in the key of Redfall and a planetary exploration based around Starfield. There will also be gaming areas set up so players can dive into some classic Bethesda titles like Skyrim and Doom Eternal. To top it all off there are a host of prizes to be won (including custom PCs, a Chilly chest and more) and attendees can bring an Xbox controller to get airbrushed in a Bethesda Worlds theme.

How much to attend this crazy fan event? Well, that’s the best part. Nothing, nada, zip. All you have to do is head over to the Eventbrite page and pick a session time and Robert is your mother’s brother. But don’t hesitate, there are limited spots and I imagine they will fill up quickly. For more on both the Bethesda Worlds event and Melbourne International Games week, stay tuned to Player 2 but in the meantime check out the full press release below.

Press Release:

‘Worlds of Bethesda’ interactive experience transports fans into Starfield, Redfall, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout during Melbourne International Games Week

Calling all brave adventurers, intrepid explorers, and Vault Dwellers! On October 7th and 8th 2022 Bethesda invites fans to step into the worlds and environments from their favourite past, present and future Bethesda games during Melbourne International Games Week. ‘Worlds of Bethesda’ will open in the heart of Melbourne, completely transforming a venue into an exclusive playground for fans of Starfield, Redfall, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout; with interactive experiences, immersive entertainment, themed food/beverages, a community party and more.

On Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October, from 11am – 4:30pm AEDT, ‘Worlds of Bethesda’ will transport attendees to a Tamrielic tavern inspired by The Elder Scrolls Online, a Reclamation Day dining area inspired by Fallout, a planetary exploration and anti-gravity space room inspired by Starfield, as well as the survivor HQ in the town of Redfall, Massachusetts. These non-gameplay experiences have all been tailored to allow passionate fans to step into the worlds they love so much.

Attendees will be able to leave with souvenirs from their trip to these worlds, including a super limited edition collectible passport and a goodie bag. Fans will also be able to bring their own Xbox One/X/S controller and have it airbrushed, themed around their favourite Bethesda game from famed controller modder, WeAreRobots. ‘Worlds of Bethesda’ will also feature a huge array of prizes, including a custom Redfall & Starfield PC built by AfterShockPC, an ESO Breton Chilly Chest and Starfield merch all available to win across the weekend.

In addition to the immersive experiences, legacy gaming booths will be open for fans to sit back, relax and jump into genre defining games from Bethesda’s history, including Skyrim, DOOM Eternal, Fallout 4 and more.

Tickets for ‘Worlds of Bethesda’ daytime sessions are free and available on Eventbrite from today. Fans can register to attend any of the eight one-hour sessions from 11am – 4:30pm Friday and 11am – 4:30pm Saturday. The event has been designed with inclusivity in mind, as there will be a 15-18 y/o session for younger gamers, the venue is handicap accessible and there is a sensory sensitive session for those who prefer a quieter environment. Spots are limited and bookings are essential to ensure attendees have ample time to enjoy the full journey.

On Friday evening from 7pm the venue will transform into an 18+ community event featuring a live music act, special guest appearances, and cosplayers partying until midnight in a Redfall inspired bar. Tickets are available via Eventbrite from today.

“At Bethesda we have an incredibly passionate fanbase, grown from a love of the timeless worlds explored through our gaming history,” said Simon Alty, VP & Managing Director, Bethesda APAC. “Whether you’ve been with us since The Elder Scrolls Arena or became a fan through Fallout, DOOM or even upcoming releases like Redfall and Starfield, we can’t wait to welcome you into ‘Worlds of Bethesda’ and celebrate with you during MIGW.”

Attendees can be assured that Covid safety plans will be in effect to make ‘Worlds of Bethesda’ as safe as possible. Event management will follow the recommended guidelines of health officials, and masks will be available onsite for all guests.
