The Elder Scrolls Online: Seasons of the Worm Cult Kicks Off

The Elder Scrolls Online: Seasons of the Worm Cult Kicks Off

Looking for more Elder Scrolls after having just finished with the Oblivion remaster? Well, the latest season of Content for ESO has kicked off with the Seasons of the Worm Cult, a continuation of the very first story told in ESO 10 years ago, and it offers all the Elder Scrolling you need to have a good time in Tamriel. For those who have never played it, The Elder Scrolls Online is my MMO of choice, mainly because I can play it completely solo and ignore everyone in the world. Yes, I may be an anti-social git, but it allows me to approach this like I would any other Elder Scrolls game, and I love it for that.

This season will see me venture to the island of Solstice to find out what the bloody hell the Worm Cult has been up to since I sent their demi-god packing in the original base game. The buggers are back and I have a whopping big magical staff and a pet bear ready to upset their plans. Part one of this story is live now, with the rest slowly coming out during the remainder of the year.

Along with the new story, there is now the ability to subclass, allowing players to mix and match skills from other classes, which should create some wild builds as people get the hang of it. There is also a new Hero’s Return feature that is designed for lapsed players, helping them to get back into the ESO groove, bringing them up-to-speed with years and years worth of gameplay improvements and changes.

Finally, and probably the most exciting thing for me at least, is an update to the map. Tamriel has gotten pretty bloody big over the years, and by the time the last lot of content dropped, it was almost impossible to find your way around the world. Thankfully, that all changes with the new ingame map and some updated tutorials for the Wayshrine system. It is long overdue and I am so glad to see it. I expect new players just won’t know how good they have it really…

Anyways, enough of that. The update is live now for PC players, with the Xbox and PS release on the 18th of June. Players can get the free update that includes the Hero’s return as well as the quality of life updates, or they can go all in with the 2025 content pass that includes the new story content as well. Stay tuned on P2 as Jenn Christodoulou and I bring you all the coverage on this year’s ESO adventures.
