Aussie Developed Gamer Drink Rez Hits The Market

I get pitched stuff every day. The latest tech, new AI developments (gross), new game announcements and even the odd charity, but never have I ever been pitched a new drink designed for gamers. Well, until now that is. REZ is an Australian-made supplement developed by Sports Dietitian and healthy eating advocate Claire Bates that they say will help keep people focused and alert while sitting in front of screens without the bad stuff that is jammed into the average energy drink you might grab from the 7-11.

So if that’s the pitch, what’s the reality? Well, I have to say when they sent me some samples, I was more than a little sceptical. It felt a bit like a marketing ploy more than anything. I have to say that while it may very well be a marketing ploy, it is at least, in my experience, a pretty effective product that, dare I say, tastes good.

It comes in an apple berry flavour that is quite nice. A little tart, not excessively sweet and it doesn’t have any of that chemical aftertaste that a lot of low-sugar/sugar-free products have. The fact that it has Therapeutic Goods Administration approval is also a nice stamp of safety for people. You can be sure it is safe and has been developed in accordance with legislation and guidelines.  So the first goal is achieved. As for the benefits. I am no scientist, but after taking it a few times, I can say that it gave me a little pick-me-up, certainly the equivalent of what I would get from a can of overly sweet energy drink or an extra strong coffee.

This is what I am most impressed with, because frankly, there aren’t enough options out there for people watching their weight, who dislike coffee or are just cautious about ingesting too many artificial chemicals. The fact that it tastes good is certainly the cherry on the cake. At $35 for 12 servings, it also works out cheaper than buying a can of Monster or an extra-large latte, too.

So if you are looking for something that will get you a little boost during a long day at work, studying or yes, gaming, you could seriously do a lot worse than REZ. It tastes good, it has been developed by an accomplished dietitian, and it is a pretty darn healthy option to boot. It won’t take the place of my morning coffee, that’s for sure, but it will be a nice option to have in the cupboard when I am writing late into the arvo and am having trouble focusing.

I say all of this under the proviso that these are my experiences. I am not a doctor, I am not a dietitian and I am certainly not your mum. Please make sure you read all about it to make sure that REZ is suitable for your specific needs.
