Gamescom Asia and Thailand Game Show Team Up

Gamescom Asia and Thailand Game Show Team Up

Two of the biggest games shows in Asia have teamed up to create one giant exhibition that will welcome industry members and the gaming public alike. Gamescom Asia, which was traditionally held in Singapore, has combined with the Thailand Game Show to create something bigger and better than anything that has been seen in the region before, coming to the National Convention Centre in Bangkok on the 16th- 19th of October.

The show features a massive lineup of guests, including Dead Space and Calisto Protocol creator Glen Schofield as the keynote speaker. Over the show, there will be over 70 speakers from 20 different countries, including:

  • Marvel Games’ Danny Koo (Marvel Rivals)
  • Ubisoft’s Alex Karpazis (Rainbow Six: Siege X, Far Cry 5, and more)
  • Gearbox’s Fleur Marty (Far Cry, and more)
  • Wargaming’s Eric Shin (World of Warships and World of Tanks), and many more speakers from the likes of Bethesda, Jumbo Jumps, and Pocketpair

On the consumer side of things, a massive lineup of games will be shown off on the floor with publishers from all around the world turning up to show off their slate of games. 4Divinity, Amazing Seasun, Bandai Namco Entertainment, CAPCOM, Daedalic Entertainment, HoYoverse, Mytona, Nintendo, Razer Game Services, Staika, The Pokémon Company, Ubisoft, Ukiyo Studios, VNGGames & NCV Games, Thermite Games and XBOX are just some of the publishers that will be at the event.

I was lucky enough to attend Gamescom Asia a few years ago, though at that time (mainly due to COVID, I presume) it was predominantly an industry event, so I am glad they are joining up with the Thailand Game Show to give consumers in the region something to check out. I guess that is another show to add to my checklist, and I have to say it is certainly a quicker flight than heading over to the USA or Germany. I am looking forward to seeing how this expo turns out, and hopefully, it is a good sign of things to come for the healthy development and games community in the Southeast Asia region.
