Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global Event This Weekend

Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global Event This Weekend

Following on from last weekends event in Nagasaki, Japan, the Wild Area goes global across November 15th and 16th from 10AM to 6PM here in Australia.

Only the second Wild Area event ever, it promises an array of experiences for current and returning Trainers, including:

  • Impidimp, Morgrem and Grimmsnarl’s Pokémon GO Debut – During both days of the event, Impidimp, the Wily Pokémon, will appear in the wild and hatch from 5 km eggs. With enough Impidimp candy, Trainers can evolve Impidimp into Morgrem and Morgrem into Grimmsnarl! Rumour has it there might even be some Shiny Impidimp around…

  • Shadow Darkrai and Shadow Cresselia Rescue Missions – In new Shadow Raids against Team GO Rocket, Trainers can encounter Shadow Darkrai in its Pokémon GO debut as well as Shadow Cresselia. Rarely, Trainers may encounter Shiny Shadow Cresselia and Shiny Shadow Darkrai – be sure to check on both days though, as Darkrai is only appearing Saturday and Cresselia only on Sunday!

  • Mighty Pokémon Appear – Trainers may encounter mighty Pokémon, which are more likely to have higher Attack, Defense and HP and are more likely to be XL or XXL. The selection of mighty Pokémon will be different across the in-person event and each day of the global event.

  • Themed Special Research – Trainers can choose between Dark- or Fairy-type paths to earn themed rewards and one of two in-game medals.

During the Wild Area event, all Trainers will receive up to three free Raid Passes per day and an upgraded Max Particle collection limit. Trainers that purchase the GO Wild Area: Global ticket from the Webstore will receive up to six free Raid Passes, a further upgraded Max Particle collection limit, and other additional bonuses. On top of this, ticket holders will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokemon. Heading over to the official Wild Area Global website gives even more details on what Trainers can look forward to.

To get prepped for the event, the offical Pokemon website has released a handy guide detailing how players can make the most of their Pokemon GO weekend. This is a must-read and will save trainers from headaches and heartaches in the long run. Dust off your walking shoes, grab that brick-sized power bank and be the very best, like no-one ever was this weekend!
