Indie Watch - Isle Of Reveries and MUSO
Isle Of Reveries
Isle Of Reveries is only a very recent discovery for me. One of those Twitter algorithm master-strokes that emerged likely in a vacuum created by Mina The Hollower getting it’s release date at the end of this month. Isle Of Reveries, a bit like Mina, is giving off the right classic Gameboy vibes, and honestly, looks even more authentic to the handheld generation that it is paying homage to. With Link’s Awakening X Oracle Of Ages/Seasons vibes oozing out of it, Isle Of Reveries is a game that I’m watching incredibly closely now for any updates that might emerge.

The player will “take control of an owl named Lief as they make a pilgrimage skybound to the desecrated Isle of Reveries, where it’s said that any wish can be granted,” and explore eight different classically inspired dungeons that set all my classic Zelda senses ablaze.
Isle Of Reveries is currently slated to come to Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and is available now to Wishlist
MUSO
I’ve desperately wanted to have a new Earthbound/Mother game, and you can shout at me til the cows come home that Deltarune and Undertale are great, but I just can’t follow you to where you’re trying to take me. I need a game with the heart of Earthbound and not the meta-commentary of Toby Fox’s games, and from what I saw recently of the upcoming Earthbound-like, MUSO, I might finally have what I’m looking for.

From the graphical style, the combat, and that quirky style that made Earthbound so incredibly endearing to me in the 90’s, MUSO seems to be capturing all of that, and I really want to see more. I’m loving the look of the enemy designs, while the small snippets of the overworld that we can see instantly take me back to Onett and Twoson. Team Treecorner, you’ve got my heart in the palm of your hand, please don’t break it. It feels like the game could still be quite a ways out yet, but I’m willing to wait it out.
MUSO is currently slated to come to PC, and is available now to Wishlist
