The Blood of Dawnwalker Drops a Bunch of Details
Isn’t it exciting to be hyped about brand new IP again? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good franchise as much as the next bloke, but there is something about an unknown quantity coming out of nowhere and shaking the world that is just so invigorating. Last year we had Expedition 33, and this year has already seen Crimson Desert take over (though technically it is a franchise, sort of, I guess), but we still have more to look forward to, and it goes by the name The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Over the last week or so, this upcoming RPG from some of the minds behind The Witcher 3 has been dropping info like it is going out of fashion. We have trailers, dev diaries, new music, system requirements, and more, all of which have been fed to the increasingly excited community. It is all pointing to a special experience, one that has huge potential to be a breakout hit. I am one of those excited prospective players, and every time I see something of this game, I get more and more excited. It is at the point now where The Blood of Dawnwalker is right up there with GTA 6 and Fable as one of my most anticipated games for the remainder of the year. It is often hard to get excited about new IP, but everything that this game is showing is ticking the boxes for me.
The combat, setting and unique premise of a human during the day and vampire at night all look to be fantastic, and despite the game’s ambitious nature, especially as a first game from a new studio, it looks like the team is going to pull it off. I say this knowing I have been burned before, but boy, I would rather be excited than sceptical. At least that’s how I look at things.

If you, like me, are excited, I can’t recommend watching the Road to Launch that the developers ran last week; it goes over all the info along with new gameplay and story trailers, making it 30 minutes well spent. But if you just want to see the action, the separate gameplay and story clips are below. In the meantime, keep a close eye on Player 2 because I know I will be personally keeping a close eye on this one and covering it whenever I can.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is landing on PS5, Xbox Series and PC on the 3rd of September.
