Gamescom Asia/Thailand Game Show Returns For It's Biggest Show Yet

In Australia, we don’t have a whole heap of game events to get to. PAX every year is a banger and there are a few smaller shows that are also fun, but nothing massive. But with Gamescom Asia and the Thailand Game Show, we do have the option for a reasonably short flight (well short compared to getting to Europe) and this years edition will be the biggest yet

From humble beginnings during COVID, Gamescom Asia has grown each year, and when it combined with the Thailand Game Show a few years ago, it really took off. This year is proof of that, with the largest physical area they have ever had, a new massive entertainment area and the announcement of John Romero as a key speaker. It is a show I really want to get to one year, as flying into Bangkok is both quicker and much, much cheaper than getting over to Cologne for the show’s big brother.

If you are interested in the show, you can read the full press release below and stay tuned for more info on anything that comes out of this genuinely important event.

Bangkok, Thailand, 23 July 2026 — Building on the landmark success of its inaugural edition, which drew 206,159 attendees from 95 countries and 294 exhibitors, gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show today announces a powerful lineup of gaming brands, a headlining keynote speaker, and a significant expansion of the event footprint as it prepares to return to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok from 29 October to 1 November 2026.

On top of hands-on access to new games and hardware launches, the entertainment area will bring fans live stage programming, esports challenges, meet & greets with beloved influencers, a cosplay competition, and the indie area that made its Thailand debut in 2025 to strong audience response. The entertainment area runs from 30 October to 1 November.

Last year’s show attracted visitors from 95 countries, delivered 28 hours of main stage content, featured more than 200 indie games, and gave Southeast Asian audiences first access to yet-to-be-released AAA titles. The 2026 edition is set to raise that bar further.

Prakash Ramajillu, General Manager of Asia-Pacific, Koelnmesse, said: “Last year we proved that Bangkok is ready to host a world-class gaming event at scale. This year we are raising that bar in every direction — more space, more brands, more experiences, and one of the most iconic figures in gaming history taking the stage. The response from the industry has been extraordinary, and we are only just getting started.”

Pongsuk Hiranprueck, CEO of Show No Limit Co., Ltd., stated: “It is about more than just creating the region’s largest festival—it is about shining a global spotlight on the Thai gaming industry. By expanding to over 35,000 square meters and introducing highlights like the Thailand Game Talent Showcase and indie area, we are opening doors for local talent to connect directly with international investors. This platform will drive sustainable growth, empowering the Thai games ecosystem to confidently take its place as a leading force on the global stage. Welcome to the Heart of Gaming.”

Winradit Kolasastraseni, Managing Director of True Digital Media, added: “Over the past year, we have witnessed Thailand’s immense potential to become a premier destination for the regional gaming industry. This year, under the theme ‘Heart of Gaming,’ we are committed to elevating the event to be larger, more comprehensive, and filled with greater opportunities than ever before. We truly believe that the heart of the gaming industry lies within its community.”
