More Details Emerge for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

After its reveal at the Xbox/Bethesda showcase, some more details about the Koei Tecmo/Team Ninja collaboration, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty have come to light. The game is being headed by some serious talent with Fumihiko Yasuda who worked on Nioh and Masaaki Yamagiwa who worked on Bloodborne leading the team. With this background, it is probably safe to say that this is going to turn out to be a  “Souls-like” title, though it seems there are some hints of Dynasty Warriors thown in for good measure.

The story is sent in a fictional version of the Chinese Han Dynaty where demons are running riot. It will be up to players to tackle these hordes using traditional Chinese sword fighting techniques and martial arts. I love the concept here of melding the true history with high fantasy, it adds a bit of weight and grounding to what can occur. We also found out that while the game will be coming day one to Xbox Gamepass, it will also be releasing on PS5 and PC so everyone (well except Switch players) will get a chance to give it a go. The game is coming early 2023 and in the meantime, check out the trailer and the new screenshots as well as the bullet-points from a recent press release that give more information.
