More Aussie Developers Than Ever Head to Gamescom This Week

In 2022, Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, will see the most Australian representation at the show to date, with 36 developers joining IGEA in showing off some of the great games our talented developers have been creating. The show, which is one of the biggest and most important global games shows in the calendar (particularly on the business side of things), runs from August 24-28th and is a great chance for both indie and larger devs alike to connect with media, publishers and other studios.

These 36 studios will be part of The Australian Pavilion, a space designed and built by IGEA with the support of Austrade, and has some extra support given by State and Commonwealth agencies who are showing increasing commitment towards actually supporting game development in Australia. CEO of IGEA, Ron Curry, calls The Australian Pavilion a “significant milestone for the Australian games industry”, and an “opportunity to capitalise on our outstanding reputation and cement Australia as a heavy hitter within the $250 billion global industry and highlight the quality and prestige of Australian created video games and the people behind them.”

“The talent we see across the country isn’t limited just by studio scale,” says Curry, and this is clear from the line-up of devs that will be attending. The line-up includes:
