Lords of the Fallen Gets a Release Date
Many, Many moons ago when the whole “Soulsborne” genre was first defined by the likes of Dark Souls, there weren’t exactly a lot of games competing with what From Software was doing. Lords of the Fallen was one of the first games to copy the formula and while it isn’t regarded as fondly as the From Software titles it was inspired by, it was still pretty well received and had its own group of dedicated players. Now, all these years later, we are finally getting a sequel and believe it or not it is called… Lords of the Fallen.
That’s because it isn’t really a true sequel. More of a reboot. But, whatever, by the looks of things this is going to be a worthy successor and perhaps even something to distract people from their Elden Ring addictions. The first thing that is immediately obvious is just how good it looks. The power of Unreal Engine 5 is in full force here, meaning that the game is also only coming to PS5 and Xbox Series (no word on PC yet)
In a recent press release, Saul Gascon, Executive producer at HEXWORKS had this to say about the release date announcement. “We are thrilled to announce the release date for Lords of the Fallen, a game our talented team has been lovingly crafting for the last few years. To celebrate, we are sharing a deeper look at the horrors of Mournstead, an immersive, dark fantasy world that will challenge even the bravest players, with its unique two-realm mechanic. We can’t wait for players to raise their Umbral Lamps this October, and discover the many secrets that lurk behind the darkness.”
Pre-orders are available now in a variety of flavours (see below for more info) and if you are keen on the game at all it is certainly worth checking out the very cool trailer (featuring none other than metal ICONS Iron Maiden) in anticipation of the October 13th release date.
