Copycat Slinks on to Steam this September
Australian/Ukranian indie developer Spoonful of Wonder have announced their PAX AUS Indie Showcase winning title Copycat will be available on Steam for Australians to buy on the 20th of September from publishers Neverland Entertainment and Nuuvem.
Supported by the Screen Australia Fund, Copycat is a three hour narrative experience which touches on themes of loneliness, belonging and the meaning of ‘home’, drawing on the experiences of its developers Sam and Kostia to weave an emotive tale.

Copycat features a stirring soundtrack from composer Daniel Bunting, whose work can already be enjoyed in both the above trailer and also a demo currently available on Steam. Players take on the role of Dawn, a recently adopted cat whose new life is stolen by a similar looking stray. Facing feelings of inadequacy and abandonment, Dawn makes her way back home to confront the would-be imposter.
Copycat gives players plenty to do as they explore the world from Dawn’s perspective by fighting dogs, climbing trees, meowing incessantly and ensuring no object placed precariously on a high surface makes it out intact. Fully voice acted, Copycat promises to be an immersive experience that players can complete across a handful of sittings.

While Switch, PlayStation and Xbox versions are all in development, there are no concrete details around release for these platforms, so those excited to explore the world of Copycat will need to head to Steam on September 20th and purchase their copy. Player2 will have a review for Copycat live ahead of launch to help our readers make a purchasing decision – but remember, supporting Aussie Indie Development is always a good choice!
