Indie Watch - La Quimera and Hordes of Fate
Hordes of Fate: A Hand of Fate Adventure

I have long been a Hand of Fate fan. Way back in 2017, I reviewed Hand of Fate 2 and said there was nothing like it on the market and that it was a must buy. But sadly, it seemed the franchise was dead and gone when the development side of Defiant Development was forced to close. Thankfully, many of the original team formed a new studio called Spitfire Interactive and have returned to the world of the Dealer and the game of chance.
This time around, though, things are different. Meet Hordes of Fate: A Hand of Fate Adventure. This is the love child of the original Hand of Fate games and the massive hit Vampire Survivors, taking elements from both of these games to create something that fans of these titles should appreciate.

I have been lucky enough to have been playing a demo of the game for a few days now, and I have to say I have had a blast. It is wonderful to have the Dealer tormenting me again, and the familiar cards from Hand of Fate have been adapted to work wonderfully in this style of auto-shooter title. It is addictive, well put together and looking like it will be an absolute blast when the full version lands. Put it this way, I have already put 6 hours into it, and that is only on a very, very feature-limited demo.
I can’t wait for this one to get a full release, and you can bet that we will be reviewing this one when it does, so keep an eye out. In the meantime, head to the Steam page and wishlist; it helps the devs immensely.
La Quimera

This one caught my eye immediately. Firstly, it is really giving off a Crysis vibe, and considering it looks like we will never get Crysis 4, I need something to stand in. Secondly, the trailer looks great, and you should all check it out. But the most important reason as to why I am excited about this one is that Reburn, the independent developer of La Quimera, is made up of veterans from the Metro franchise, perhaps my favourite Story-focused FPS series of all time.
As you can see, it is a futuristic FPS with the focus on an upgradeable exo-suit to give players new and exciting abilities to deal death with. The game has launched into Early Acces,s and while it is far from feature complete, it should give players a good taste of what is to come when the game reaches version 1.0.

I have just received my Early Access copy, so I will be reporting in on just how things are shaping up soon, but I expect this one will be a little rough to begin with, as these sorts of ambitious titles tend to be. That said, the EA process should give the developers the time and feedback needed to make this one an absolute banger, at least that is my sincere hope.
As always, you can help the devs with a simple wishlist and stay tuned to P2 for more on La Quimera soon.
