Today is the day Halo fans, the day where you can finally get your hands on Halo Reach in the Master Chief Collection. What is even more exciting is that it is on PC too. Xbox MCC owners, along with Gamepass subscribers can get now get every single Halo game on their Xbox ones, with all the Halo branded titles now available. PC owners still have some waiting to do, with only Reach available right now and the rest of the MCC coming at a later date.
Regardless of the wait for the remaining Halo titles, it is exciting to be playing a properly considered and ported Halo game on PC and what is even better is Microsoft hasn’t locked it down to their own (somewhat poor) shop if you want to buy it outright. The Halo Master Chief Collection can also be purchased on Steam. No matter which version you get your hands on, MS Store, Steam or Gamepass, the remaining Halo titles, (1,2,3,4 and ODST) will be including and automatically installed when they are available in the new year.
Reach has had numerous improvements as well, including a bump to 4k resolution and 60fps (or higher) and features a host of PC specific tweaks to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible on a wide range of systems. This really is the best way to play one of the best, if not the best, campaign in the entire franchise. The game’s complete multiplayer suite will also be available, so for those reliving the past or diving in for the first time you are getting the full Reach experience.
Stay tuned on Player 2 for more coverage on Halo Reach and the PC version of the Master Chief Collection as it comes to hand.
Dad, Gamer, Writer, Husband all rolled into one big ball of random matter.
Editor of Player 2, Matt spends his time yelling at strangers as they walk past, imploring them to visit Player 2. Sadly this tactic hasn’t yielded any significant results but he keeps on trying regardless.
