Nintendo Direct Mini Wrap-Up – September 18, 2020

Nintendo Direct Mini Wrap-Up – September 18, 2020

While I recover over here from the heartbreak of no new Bravely Default 2 news, Nintendo tried to soften the blow with a sweet mini-Nintendo Direct drop.

Arguably, so many of the Nintendo Directs have been “minis” this year that it might be time for a rebrand.

But we did get announcements of a lot of nice little games on the way or even already available today!

For those who want some nice new games today for the weekend, sink your teeth and wallets into Ori and Will of the Wisps or Hades – both fantastically acclaimed games packed with oodles of puzzles and content. Long-running survival game The Long Dark also dropped today.

For the rest of 2020, Switch owners can look forward to “sports” PGA Tour 2K21 on 25 September 2020, “dancing sorta sports” Fitness Boxing 2 on 4 December 2020, and “are guns sports” Empire of Sin on 1 December 2020. Our final third-party announcement for 2020 being Sniper Elite 4 on Switch this winter.

Looking to next year, Bandai Namco’s announced their new 3D platformer Balan Wonderworld to arrive on 26 March 2021, the same day as Monster Hunter Rise. Summer 2021 promises Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, and interested Nintendo Switch Online members can play the previous game Disgaea 5 Complete as a free trial at some stage before Disgaea 6 releases. And another farming and monster hunting RPG Rune Factory 5 will drop sometime in 2021.
