Tearing Apart A PS5 In The Name Of Science (and PR)

With the PS5 coming in just a shade over a month, info about the news system is starting to drop with added frequency. Now thanks to a very informative video released by Sony, we have our first look at the physical nuts and bolts of the PS5.

Masayasu Ito, Executive Vice President of Hardware Engineering and Operation at Sony Interactive Entertainment had this to say on the PS Blog “Our team values a well thought out, beautifully designed architecture. Inside the console is an internal structure looking neat and tidy, which means that there aren’t any unnecessary components and the design is efficient. As a result, we’re able to achieve our goal of creating a product with a high degree of perfection and quality.”

The video goes on to breakdown each component of the PS5, showing all the tech that makes the magic happen and goes on to explain a few things about additional HDD space, cooling, the removable sides and exactly why the PS5 is the size of a Volkswagon Beetle. Catch the video below and get ready for all the PS5 coverage to hit Player 2 when it launches on the 12th of November.
