More Disintegration Details Emerge From GamesCom

Last month I reported the existence of Disintegration to you, the product of a collaboration between Private Division and V1 Interactive, a team that boasts talent who’ve cut their teeth on the likes of Halo, Destiny, and SOCOM US Navy Seals, and led by Marcus Lehto, former Creative Director at Bungie. We learned that the game would be coming to GamesCom where more details were to be outlined. That day has come and we now know much more about the game including a release date.

Disintegration is an FPS set in the relatively near future, a future where mankind’s continued existence hangs in the balance, with technological advancements being our only potential saviour. The human brain is removed and surgically encased into a robotic armature, in a process referred to as Disintegration, while a terrifying force, known only as the Rayonne emerge. The Rayonne themselves have been driven to the brink of insanity due to the overwhelming sense of power and control that they’ve commanded, and begin capturing what remains of humanity forcing them into robotic Integration.

Speaking about the game, President and Game Director, Lehto said, “Disintegration is not your standard first-person shooter and it will challenge how you approach the battlespace… You will explore a world forever changed by an ongoing global conflict. The only way to save life as we know it is by making strategic decisions in every firefight, both as an armed Gravcycle pilot and as the commander of your crew.

The Gravcycle, a hovering quad-engine vehicle originally used for search and rescue missions, has been transformed into an armoured chassis loaded with powerful arms is one of your primary modes of transport and offence, and as Gravcylce expert Romer Shoal, you will attempt to command a small band of troopers to defend the remnant of mankind. Particular emphasis has been placed upon the tactical component of combat, and using the war-torn battlefield to your advantage.

As well as a full single player campaign, Disintegration will also boast several multiplayer modes, none of which are detailed but all will supposedly feature “frantic team-based battles require smart coordination, utilizing ground units with individual abilities while simultaneously maximizing the destructive weapons on the Gravcycle”

Both V1 Interactive and Private Division are aiming to release Disintergation in 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC
