Zenless Zone Zero | Hype Check
With HoYoVerse’s Zenless Zone Zero now only a few days away, we wanted to touch base with some of our team to see how they’re feeling about the game. We’ve seen a range of media up to this point, from gameplay showcases and trailers, we’ve seen the press releases, and heard the talk, but how are we feeling? That’s where we’re bringing Hype Check into the mix; to get a gauge on what the prospective players are thinking. So here’s how we’re feeling about Zenless Zone Zero.

I had trouble finding information on the game as the website for the game explains the characters but not much of the story. However, upon finding a youtube video, it’s not a bad looking game. The combat seems smooth and the story appears to be interesting. It is an epic exclusive on PC and it appears to be wanting to take on Genshin. However, I find I’m more reminded of Persona cross with Devil may cry. If I get a chance, I wouldn’t mind trying the game out as it honestly looks really good.

HoYoVerse’s slate of games has not managed to capture my attention so far, (as visually striking as they are) and I’m not sure this one’s going to be any different. It does, however, have the best alliterative name of all the games coming out this month, perhaps even the year. It’s very fun to say.

I’m not a huge fan of gacha games masquerading as full price games. HoYoVerse does have great looking games and they seem to be popular enough, but if I’m playing a gacha, I don’t want it to take up tonnes of my time. If I’m playing a fully fledged “normal” game, I don’t want to be held back by gacha, energy systems and pointless grinding. HoYoVerse’s slate looks to be more of what they’ve done in the past; super popular, and people love it, it’s just not for me.
