Star Wars Battlefront Details Emerge
The Star Wars celebration week has already brought the internet to its knees with the release of a new Force Awakens trailer but now EA are adding to the damage with the first decent look at the highly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront. The game will allow players to control the iconic vehicles from the franchise including AT-AT walkers, X-Wing Fighters and Speederbikes as well as engaging in ground warfare across many of the film’s iconic locations.
“Like so many others around the world, everyone at DICE is a tremendous fan of the Star Wars universe,” said Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir, Senior Producer of Star Wars Battlefront. “To be working on a Star Wars project and knowing we are helping to represent the universe we love to our generation and a legion of new Star Wars fans is truly an honour. Thanks to the access and knowledge shared with us by Lucasfilm, and the passion and talent of our team, we plan to deliver an amazing game that puts you right in the middle of the Star Wars battles you always imagined playing.”
Battlefront is offering a bonus for pre-orders which includes early access to the “Battle of Jakku” (non pre-order players will get free access a week later). This will allow players to take part in a battle that is set just after the second Deathstar was destroyed on the desert planet of Jakku. The remnants of said battle can be seen in the Force Awakens trailer. Star Wars Battlefront will be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on the 19th of November.
