Monthly Grab Bag – July 2015
Xbox Games With Gold.
A great month of freebies from Xbox this month with two games for both the Xbox One and 360. On the Xbox One the excellent Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is on offer for the first half of the month. This is probably the best of all the Assassin’s Creed games so if you haven’t played it now is the time. For the second half of the month puzzle platformer So Many Me is on offer. This game received a a great reception on PC and is considered a great example of the genre so don’t miss it.
On the Xbox 360 things are just as rosy. For the first half of the month the original Plants vs Zombies is on offer. Of course 90% of people with have this on one platform or another but if you are one of the few who haven’t played it then this is worth grabbing. The second half of the month sees Gears of War 3 hit. Gears 3 is a smashing game and worth playing for Horde mode alone.
Playstation Plus
The PS4 gets 4 games this month. The first is Styx: Master of Shadows, a steath/rpg that sees players take the role of a lone goblin who sneaks around a world filled with corrupt humans and tries to rob them blind. Second on the PS4 is Rocket League. Think soccer but with cars as the players and you will get a fair idea as to what this game is about. A lot of fun to be had with this one
Next up is Mousecraft which is also available on the PS3 and Vita. This puzzle game charges players with the difficult task of guiding their mice through a range of scientific experiments. The game even has a level creator to make your own. Entwined which is also available on all three Sony systems is a hard game to describe but the basic premise is guiding two trails of light through various different 3 levels.
The PS3 also gets the indie adventure game Rain, which sees players exploring levels with objects being invisible except when they are reveled by rain. Finally the Vita gets the excellent twin stick shooter Geometry Wars 3, a game that is sure to test even the fastest reflexes.
So what do you think of this month’s selection? Any standout titles? Let us know in the comments.
