Gravity Rush 2 Delayed

Gravity Rush 2 Delayed

Sometimes articles just write themselves; this is one of those pieces. Sony has today announced that yet another First Party PS4 exclusive has been delayed – this time the victims are those who were excited for Gravity Rush 2.

Speaking via the Playstation Blog, Studio Japan’s own Keiichiro Toyama discussed that because the development of Gravity Rush 2 was going so “smoothly”, the studio had made the decision to delay the game so that they could package what was initially intended to be premium DLC in with the main game, thus giving the buyer more value from their purchase.

Toyama states “Gravity Rush 2 is the conclusion of Kat’s journey, so we want players to have enough time to dive deep into her story. In addition, as a lot of work went into online features that allow for asynchronous player interaction, we want as many people as possible playing the title at the same time. Thus, after careful deliberation, we have decided to change the release date. Gravity Rush 2 will now launch on 18th January 2017 in Europe” (and Australia).

With Gravity Rush 2 leaving 2016 that now means that The Last Guardian stands alone as Playstation’s only new “traditional” gaming experience that owners of a PS4 can buy this holiday season, with it releasing in December 2016 after a decade of development.
