Bioshock Leads Take on The Blackout Club
When a team is comprised of leaders of projects such as Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Dishonored, you have to think that something special is on the way. Well the team at Question LLC have constructed that all-star team, and the product of their collaboration is The Blackout Club, a cooperative paranormal horror mystery that intends to step out of the shadows in Q1 of 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
“Set in a small town with a monstrous secret, the experience follows a group of teens who have all mysteriously been experiencing blackouts – sometimes for days on end. When one of their friends disappears and none of the adults seem to believe them, the group begins an investigation of their own. With up to four players, sneak out at night to go on surveillance missions and capture the conspiracy going on in the town’s ominous underbelly on camera. Only by working together can players gather evidence and survive long enough to expose the strange things going on beneath the town.”
Horror games tend to live or die by their isolation and immersion, so it will be interesting to see whether a game that intends to bring multiple players together can elicit the same terror that other horror games have achieved over the years. Time will tell.
