Beyond Good and Evil Gets The Anniversary Treatment

Beyond Good and Evil Gets The Anniversary Treatment

In super exciting news for fans like myself, it was announced today that Beyond Good and Evil is getting a 20th-anniversary re-release. While it had been rumoured for a while now, it was nice to get confirmation during the Limited Run Games showcase that the Anniversary edition will be coming to PC, Xbox Series & One, PS5 & 4 and the Nintendo Switch on the 25th of June. What’s more, there will be physical collector’s edition coming later in the year with pre-orders opening up on the 12th of July.

The Anniversary edition is coming with a host of improvements for returning players. These improvements include 4K resolutions, 60 FPS, Autosaves, Cutscene Skips (but don’t do that, they are amazing) Achievements/Trophies, full controller/keyboard/mouse support and cross-save across all platforms.  To top it all off, there will be a new mission, where players can find a bit more about Jade’s past and perhaps even learn a bit about the not-quite-vaporware, Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Honestly, if you have never played this gem of an adventure, you owe it to yourself to give it a crack. It is pitch-perfect, with fantastic gameplay, amazing writing and lead characters that are so engaging that even after 20 years, people are still excited about the prospect of a sequel. Beyond Good and Evil is a true classic and these modern touches should ensure that a whole new generation of players get to experience this unforgettable game. I for one can’t wait to jump back in with Jade, Pey’J and Double H to bask in this wonderful title once more.
