Over the weekend Mortal Kombat creators Netherealm studios released a new story trailer for their upcoming Mortal Kombat X. It showed off quite a few tasty surprises including 3 newly confirmed fighters, all of which have deep family ties within the MK universe. The first is Jacqueline Briggs, niece of Major Jax Briggs the cybor armed soldier who first appeared in MK 2. The second is Takashi Takeda, son of Blind Kenshi who has also been trained by none other than Scorpion. Finally there is Kung Jin descendant of Kung Lao. Weather this is the Razor Hatted Kung Lao from previous games or the Kung Lao that originally beat Goro 500 years ago is unknown.
What is also cool about the trailer is the glimpses of returning characters that may also be making an appearance in the new game. Mileena, Sindel, Rain and Shinnok all appear briefly in the trailer indicating they may well play a part in the game upon it’s release. It is however unclear if they will be playable or simply be apart of the story. The trailer is well worth watching for all fans of the game and you can check it out below.
