A Call To Arms
As I am sure many of you know, Yesterday YouTube changed its policy regarding monetization of YouTube videos. The new policy states that unless a channel has 1000 subs and 4000 hours of watch time (in 12 months) it isn’t eligible to earn money from YouTube. A somewhat draconian approach that reeks of a company that couldn’t be bothered with the “little guy.”
So how does this effect Player 2 I hear you ask? Well as I am sure you are aware we have a Player 2 YouTube channel. That channel gets roughly 3 new videos per week (and a few trailers) and has been earning us a little coin to go towards our server costs and keep the lights on here at Player 2. Sadly that coin is no longer going to be coming in. We are very close to the 4000 hours requirement, so we know people are watching our videos. We just need to push our subscriptions up. Currently, we are under 200 subs and we need to get to 1000 by Feb 20. A big ask sure, but not an impossible one.
So we are asking you, our dear readers, to give us a Sub. That’s all. We love what we do here at Player 2 and currently, the bills are being paid by one person so any supplement to that will help us to keep doing what we are doing.
To help gain momentum, starting next Monday, we will be putting up a new, original video every day. Yup, every single day for two weeks. So make you do subscribe to see what games we are playing and what is happening in the world of Player 2.
We don’t do things like this often but please, subscribe. It would mean the world to us.
