Take Your Forza Skills to Bathurst
V8’s, tinnies and blue singlets, yep Australia’s biggest motorsport event is just around the corner. The Bathurst 1000 is the pinnacle of motor racing in Australia and it is usually reserved for the best drivers the country has to offer, until now.
Thanks to Xbox and Harvey Norman there will be an online competition held during September and October to determine which Australian Forza players deserve to star in their own event on the big day. The Harvey Norman Supercars Forza Challenge will see players competing in Forza Motorsport 6 for the fastest lap around Mount Panorama. The eight fastest qualifiers will win a trip to this year’s Bathurst where they will be paired with some of V8 racing’s best for an all-star challenge.
The cool thing about this all is that it may be the blueprint for further esports competitions to be held in conjunction with V8 Supercar events. Supercars CEO James Warburton said “This e-sports initiative is an exciting opportunity to showcase Supercars and further our fan engagement, representing a significant growth market for our teams and partners. The synergy and popularity of racing games and the sport of Supercars means that a e-Sports Championship in 2018 will become a natural extension of our product offering.” So this could potentially be the start of a beautiful relationship.
If you think you have the racing chops to take on all the challengers and wish to enter, or you simply want more information just head over to the website: www.supercars.com/esports.

Editor of Player 2, Matt spends his time yelling at strangers as they walk past, imploring them to visit Player 2. Sadly this tactic hasn’t yielded any significant results but he keeps on trying regardless.
